Men’s Soccer Announces Signing Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men's soccer coach Joel Tyson has announced that fifteen student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent or letters of commitment to join the Terriers in the fall of 2019.

"From the moment we got on campus we've been focused on building relationships with our current players and developing relationships with potential players," said Tyson. "Given the time we had and the players we were able to connect with, we are beyond excited for what this group will bring to this program.

"We wanted to find the best possible player while also fulfilling the academic and integrity profile that we want this program to embody. The student-athletes joining us have shown a dedication and discipline to their team, to their families, and to themselves."

The group includes five forwards/wingers, five midfielders, three defenders and a pair of goalies. Five different countries are represented in the class.

Ole Berg is a 6-1, 170-pound defender from Oslo, Norway. He spent the fall of 2018 at the University of Denver but did not see action. He played for the Norwegian National School Team.
Ole has been with us since the start of spring as a transfer from Denver. He is an extremely competitive and passionate player that we hope our team can continue to learn from. We feel strong about his chances to be an important player for us.

John Cetin is a 6-2, 185-pound goalkeeper from Surfside Beach, South Carolina. In his four years at Socastee High School he had 243 saves and 32 clean sheets. He is the school's career leader in shutouts. He was named All-State as a senior and played club with South Carolina United.
John has a professional level frame and physical abilities. He is someone that we are confident has his best days ahead of him as a goalkeeper. John also possesses strong leadership qualities that our group will benefit from.

Alex Dennis is a midfielder from Charleston, South Carolina.
Alex has a mature and professional sense of the game. He has had a very wealthy playing experience abroad and domestically that we will benefit from. His passion and leadership are qualities that we will all be able to pull from.

Nicholas Dopazo is a midfielder from Miami, Florida. He played for Pinecrest Premier at the club level.
Niko is a gifted attacking player that showed some unique versatility in how he can run the ball as well as distribute the ball effectively. He's a mature player and possesses a very motivated attitude to add to the quality of our group.

Robert Erlingsson is a forward from Kari, Iceland.
Robert is an exciting attacking player that has the ability to play several roles based on his physical and technical qualities. We think he has some significant play-making abilities and look forward to his contributions to the group.

Meade Fowler is a forward from Columbia, South Carolina. He plays club soccer for South Carolina United.
Meade is a player that the more we saw him, the more we appreciated his value as a creative and relentless goal scorer. He has a natural ability to unbalance players and has a strong record of producing special moments.

Charlie Harris is a 5-9, 167-pound midfielder from Weston-super-Mare in England. He holds the Priory Community School record for scoring with over 50 points in his career and played for Bristol City.
Charlie is a mature player with a high technical and tactical view of the game. Charlie joined us in January and has been a great addition for the mentality and cohesiveness of our team. His professionalism and his experiences will be very valuable to Wofford.

Jake Kwiatkowski is a 6-0 defender from Davidson, North Carolina. He played for the Carolina Rapids in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. His sister, Grace, plays for UNC Asheville.
Jake is a high potential player that has the strength and athleticism of a top center back but the passing range and ability of a midfield player. He is a product of a great club environment that we know will benefit him in his time here.

Josh Mackie is a forward from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He plays club soccer for South Carolina United.
For all that he does on and off the field, we feel like Josh is one of the most talented players not just in South Carolina, but in this region. He has a high level of versatility in his ability to beat players, score goals, and provide opportunities to the players around him.

Brandon Oddy is a 5-11, 168-pound forward from Northampton, Great Britain. In 2016 ended up as National Cup runners-up and played for Crystal Palace.
Brandon comes from a great goal scoring background. He is a player that has that unique ability to always be on the end of something. We see him as the type of player that can be the difference in a game

Joshua Old is a goalkeeper from Indian Land, S.C. and played for the Charlotte Soccer Academy.
Josh has several qualities that we admire in a goalkeeper. He has a great ability to always position himself in a game, and he has the range of passing and shot-stopping abilities to be a high-level goalkeeper.

Adrian Roseth is a 5-10, 152-pound forward from Haugesund, Norway. His team finished third in the 2016 Norway Cup.
Adrian is a difference maker as an attacking player. He will provide some versatility and play making ability that we desire at the 7/11 position. We are beyond excited to work with him and to have him in the team. His contribution will be an important one.

Buster Sjoberg is a 6-3, 187-pound defenseman from Uppsala, Sweden. He played for IK Sirius in Sandgropsgatan.
Buster was one of our first priorities when arriving. He has a great sense of positioning and bite as a central defender as well as a quality range of passing that will benefit our game model.

Maceon Urueta is a 5-7, 182-pound midfielder from Taylors, S.C. As a freshman in 2018 at South Carolina he made four appearances. A four-year letterman at Blue Ridge High School, he won a state title with his CESA club team in 2016.
Maceon is a player that will bring immediate value to our game model and to our overall mentality as a group. He is tough but technical player that will be important to how we go out and try to build the game.

Spencer Van Buskirk is a 5-9, 155-pound midfielder from Marietta, Georgia. As a senior at Pope High School, he scored eight goals and had ten assists to earn first team All-Region honors.
Spencer moves the game extremely well. His vision and patience on the ball along with his passing ability allows him to dictate the flow of games. We think he has as much potential as anyone we've seen this spring and look forward to working with him.

The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
