Men’s Soccer Introduces Six Newcomers to 2026 Signing Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford men's head coach Ryan Osborne has announced six student-athletes who have signed an athletics aid agreement or letter of commitment to join the Terriers in the spring and fall.  

This class features three international signees, two from the United Kingdom and one from Ireland. The class also features three signees from the Carolinas.  

"We are excited to welcome our six signees into our program and the Wofford family," said head coach Ryan Osborne. "We feel that they all possess many qualities as people and players that align with what we want our team to look like. We look forward to making many special memories with them on and off the field."

Henry Boner is a center midfielder and winger from Charlotte, North Carolina, and attends Myers Park High School. During his time at Myers Park, Boner posted a total of 16 goals, 34 assists, and 66 points. Boner, as a senior, boasts seven goals and 20 assists and leads his team with assists per game (1.1). Boner is also a member of the club team Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA).  

Taylor Bowen is a striker out of Middlesbrough, United Kingdom. One of the three international signees joining the class of 2026, Bowen attended Blackpool and Fylde College prior to Wofford. Bowen most recently played for Blackpool FC.  

Sam Case is a winger from Dublin, Ireland, and attends Portmarnock Community School. Case is also a member of the club team Drogheda United, where he contributed to the club's League of Ireland U17 Runner-Up and U20 Championship titles. There, Case was also part of the FAI Cup Championship team.  

Pete Holmes is a center midfielder from Tadworth, United Kingdom, and attended Whitgift School. Holmes was an active member of Bigglewade FC and Cambridge United. At Cambridge United, he was the captain of the U18 team and played in over 50 games. Holmes was the recipient of the Moments of the Year Award in his second year with Cambridge.  

Ben Horgan is a center midfielder from Clover, South Carolina, and attends Gaston Day School in Gastonia, North Carolina. During his time at Gaston Day, Horgan accumulated 81 career goals and 59 assists. In his junior and senior seasons alone, Horgan combined for 72 goals. The three-time All-State selection was named Gaston Day 2024-2025 Athlete of the Year. Horgan is a two-time State Champion, who was named to the All-Charlotte Observer First Team and All-Region First Team for Class 1A-4A. Horgan is also a member of CSA with fellow future Terrier, Henry Boner.  
 
Gavin Pierce is a winger from Clover, South Carolina, and attends Clover High School. Pierce is also a member of Charlotte Independence FC, where he posted over 60 assists and 36 goals. In his junior season. Pierce broke through and posted 24 goals and 36 assists. Pierce led his team to three USL Academy Conference titles and was the top goal scorer on his USL Academy team. The ECNL All-Conference First Team honoree also helped his team to the group stage of the ECNL Playoffs two years in a row.  

The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
