SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head coach
Rod Ray and the Wofford men's tennis team announced the NLI signings of the class of 2021 on Wednesday with Mark Endler and Robert (Robbie) Young joining the Terriers.
Endler hails from Tenerife, Spain, and recently received his best official ITF ranking at #476. He is also ranked #90 in Spain and is #1 in Canary amongst junior players. Endler was the Tenerife champion in both juniors and the open, and the Canary champion in both categories as well.
"Mark Endler is a very good tennis player and I'm thrilled he's joining us. He loves to compete, is a student of the game, and is a tireless worker", said coach Ray. "Mark has a solid all-court game that is well suited to our courts. His attacking style will only get better with us, plus his athleticism makes him tough defensively as well."
Young is a local product coming out of Greenville, S.C. Robbie is ranked #5 in South Carolina and is a four-star recruit. In 2017 he went 9-2 and was an Upper State Finalist, and in 2019 he moved up to the number 1 spot on his roster, making it to the 3
rd round of the playoffs.
"Robbie Young is going to be very good player for us. He's a great character person with a ton of ability and drive", said Ray. "He's competitive, determined, and possesses a great serve. A tough player, who's 6'6". He'll help us is singles and doubles."
