SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College football team was back on the practice fields on Saturday morning to complete the first three weeks of spring practice. It marked the eighth day on the fields, with the team having seven more available practice dates.
The team worked for approximately two hours on a sunny Saturday. After fifteen minutes of conditioning, the team went through a tackle circuit and mesh drills. The majority of practice was spent on first and second down situations, with the final periods focusing on third down. Punt and punt return were the special teams segments of practice.
"We have gotten a lot of our base offense and defense in which is good," said head coach
Josh Conklin. "I think we have some of the new stuff that we want to look at offensively and defensively in as well. So we are right on track with the spring. We have had a couple of injuries but nothing too serious up to this point. We have had a lot of good work every day. Over the next two weeks we are going to start hitting a little bit more and create more competition. We are working our way up to the Black and Gold game which will be offense against defense with a scoring system. They will have a lot of fun with that and make it a competition day."
