Indoor Track and Field Weekend Results

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – While most of the Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams had the weekend off, several individuals competed at the Camel City Invitational and the VMI Winter Relays. William Stout won the heptathlon in Lexington, while Hannah Steelman was fifth in the 3,000 meters in Winston-Salem.
 
Hannah Steelman ran in the 3,000-meter elite race at the Camel City Invitational, finishing fifth overall in 9:11.88. The top three finishers were professionals, with fourth place going to Sara Freix of Virginia Tech in 9:11.85 out of the 14 competitors. Nate Myers also competed in the shot put in Winston-Salem.
 
At the VMI Winter Relays, William Stout took first place overall in the heptathlon with 4,696 points in the field of twelve participants. Tanner Henry was second at 4,574 and T.J. Maxey was fourth at 4,170. Stout was first in the pole vault, first in the 1,000 meters and second in the shot put. Henry was second in the high jump and T.J. Maxey was second in the pole vault.
 
Up next, the teams will be in action at the VMI Indoor Classic on February 14 and 15. The Southern Conference Championship will be held on February 29 and March 1 in Lexington, Virginia.
