CLEMSON, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed on Friday and Saturday at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson University. The Terriers had numerous strong performances in the competitive field, including a first place in the pentathlon by
Megan Dunn.
On Friday in the women's pentathlon,
Megan Dunn took first place with a school record 3,603 points. She was first in the long jump and 800 meters in the event.
Netanya Linares was second with 3,452 points, which included a first place in the high jump.
Also in Friday's competition,
Destiny Shippy was 12
th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.70.
Madeline McNinch ran a 7.74 in the preliminaries of the 60-meters to finish 13
th, with Shippy 15
th in 7.76.
Dahlia Cutler was 16
th in the 400-meter preliminaries in 58.32.
Elijah Bull ran a 49.32 in the preliminaries of the men's 400-meters.
Saturday morning began with the completion of the men's heptathlon.
Tanner Henry was second overall with 4,725 points and he was first in the high jump.
T.J. Maxey was fifth with 4,204 points, which included a first place in the 1,000 meters.
Madeline McNinch was 15
th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.12.
Sam Larkin added a 12
th place finish in the men's 200 meters at 22.17. The men's 4x400 relay was sixth in 3:21.26.
The meet featured numerous schools, including Auburn, Charleston Southern, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Miami, Northern Colorado, South Carolina, Tennessee, UAB and Virginia Tech.
Up next, the teams will be in action at the Darius Dixon Memorial at Liberty on February 12-13. The team will compete in the Southern Conference Championships on February 27 and 28 in Lexington.
