SPARTANBURG S.C. – The Southern Conference announced its monthly awards for all fall sports Thursday afternoon, with Wofford's Nikolai Rojel earning the Offensive Player of the Month honor for men's soccer. The selections are made by the SoCon office.
 
"We're excited that Nikolai has been recognized for his hard work over this past month," said head coach Joel Tyson. Like any individual recognition, there's a team behind him supporting his efforts. The staff and players are all thrilled for Nikolai's first player award."
 
Rojel earned the honor following a 12-point September featuring six goals, with braces against Jacksonville and at Queens. Rojel also scored at least one goal in the final three games of September. Rojel led the SoCon this past month in goals per game (.75), points per game (1.5), total goals (six) and shot accuracy (.765), while sitting second in the league in total points (12) and shots on goal per game (1.62).
 
This is the first-ever monthly honor for the Wofford men's soccer program and first individual honor since Joshua Old won Defensive Player of the Week last season. The Southern Conference began awarding monthly honors in 2003.
 
The Terriers currently sits at 3-5-2 (0-0-1 SoCon) and will welcome ETSU to Snyder Field on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
