Â
The Terriers opened the scoring in the bottom of the third.

Marshall Toole to reach and Dempsey to advance to third. Toole stole second before
Jack Renwick grounded out, enabling both runners to come around and score. Wofford held a 2-0 edge but remained hitless.
Â
The bottom of the fourth started off with another hit batter, this time
Nolen Hester taking one for the team. Seeking Wofford's first hit,
Trey Yunger delivered with a single to right field, and an error by the shortstop on the throw in from the outfield allowed Hester to race home for another run. Wofford led 3-0 after four innings.
Â
An RBI single in the top of the fifth put Lafayette on the board, cutting the score to 3-1.
Â
The Terriers plated four more in the seventh inning to pull away.
Lawson Hill singled to center to score Yunger, beginning the rally. With runners on the corners,
John Dempsey dropped down a nice sacrifice bunt that scored Hill, padding Wofford's lead. Toole finished things off with a single to right field that brought around two more Terriers, lifting Wofford to a 7-1 advantage.
Â
The final three frames went quietly, with both bullpens taking control.
Devon Sharts closed the door in the top of the ninth for the Terriers, securing the 7-1 triumph for Wofford.
