Terriers in the Minor Leagues

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Minor League Baseball season began last weekend with Opening Day on Friday, April 8. Five former Terriers are currently in the minor league ranks as they continue their baseball careers.
 
Matt Milburn '16 is currently with the Oakland Athletics organization after the A's drafted him in the 29th round of the 2016 draft. The right-handed pitcher was promoted to the triple-A Las Vegas Aviators in May of 2021. He begins to 2022 campaign in double-A with the Midland RockHounds.
 
Adam Scott '18 is a member of the Cleveland Guardians organization after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 draft. The left-handed pitcher was a non-roster invitee to spring training this season for the Guardians, and he begins the 2022 season with the triple-A Columbus Clippers.
 
Brett Rodriguez '20 is a member of the Seattle Mariners organization after signing with the team in July 2020. The infielder is currently playing with the low-A Modesto Nuts.
 
Colin Davis '21 is also a member of the Mariners organization after Seattle took him in the 7th round of last year's draft. The outfielder joins Rodriguez on the Nuts to begin 2022.
 
Hayes Heinecke '21 is a member of the St. Louis Cardinals organization after they selected him in the 13th round of last year's draft. He spent 2021 with the FCL Cardinals of the rookie level, and the left-handed pitcher begins 2022 with the low-A Palm Beach Cardinals.
 
The current Terriers are 24-9 overall in 2022 with a perfect 3-0 SoCon record after sweeping UNCG this past weekend. This has lifted Wofford to a No. 25 ranking in the Baseball America Top 25, marking the first-ever national ranking in the history of the Wofford baseball program.
 
The #25 Terriers host the ETSU Buccaneers this weekend in a three-game series that begins Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. at Russell C. King Field.
