Men’s Tennis Adds Clivio and Deveney

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men's tennis head coach Rod Ray has announced that Daniel Clivio and Jack Deveney have committed to join the team in the fall of 2023.
 
A native of Orino, Italy, Clivio has competed in numerous international competitions and has a career-high ITF junior ranking of 577 in singles. During the 2022 season he reached the quarterfinals in Luzern, Switzerland, along with the finals in Nairobi.
 
Deveney is a native of Bearsden, Scotland and attends Bearsden Academy. His career-high ITF junior ranking of 543 in singles was achieve earlier in January after competing in a tournament in Glasgow. He has won numerous 18 and under tournaments, including the Scottish Indoor Championships in 2021 and the 2022 J5 ITF in Edinburgh.
 
"Our goal was to sign the most competitive people we could who also have good character," said head coach Rod Ray. "We accomplished our goal with Daniel and Jack. I'm looking forward to growing with them in the years to come."
 
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
