SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College and AFL have announced the Student-Athlete Leaders of the Month for September. The month's honorees are Alexus Atkins from the women's cross country team and Nikolai Rojel from the men's soccer team.
 
Atkins, a senior from Campobello, South Carolina, was the top Wofford finisher at the Eye Opener and the Winthrop/adidas Invitational meets this season. A member of the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, she is majoring in mathematics.
 
Rojel, a sophomore from Copenhagen, Denmark, leads the team in scoring this season with 16 points on eight goals. He is first in the Southern Conference in goals (8) and is first in points (16). Rojel has been named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. Last season he was the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year while earning All-Southern Conference first team honors. A business major, he was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
