Women’s Basketball Announces Three Signees

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College head women's basketball coach Jimmy Garrity announced today the addition of three student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Terriers next season. Madi Hawk, Molly Masingale and Toni Warren are the incoming Terriers that Garrity welcomes aboard for the 2024-25 season.

"We are thrilled to announce the 2024 recruiting class of Molly Masingale, Toni Warren and Madi Hawk. Through the recruiting process our coaches spend a lot of time identifying prospects that are not only great basketball players, but also great students and human beings that fit the culture of Wofford College and our women's basketball program," said Garrity. "Molly, Toni and Madi check all the boxes and are fantastic additions to our program. I am more than confident they will represent Wofford College and our Women's Basketball program in a first-class manner both on and off the basketball court."

Madi Hawk is a 5-10 guard from Jefferson County High School in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Hawk has averaged no less than 13 points per game in her high school career, including a 17.1 PPG average as a junior. She has added over two assists per game and over three steals per game alongside a minimum of three rebounds per game, a mark that she improved to 4.9 as a junior. Hawk is a multi-time all-district and all-region honoree while also earning a She Got Game MVP honor. As a junior, she was a Miss Basketball nominee and Gatorade Player of the Year nominee. Hawk has aided in her high school winning a pair of district titles with a region title her freshman year. A National Honors Society inductee, Hawk is involved off the court as a rec league coach while also volunteering with basketball clinics.

"We have been watching and recruiting Madi for many years. We were thrilled to hear her say yes to becoming a Terrier," said Garrity. "She is a talented player that loves to play basketball. There are a couple of things that jump out when watching Madi play. The first is her effort and how hard she plays. She's not afraid to dive on the floor for a loose ball. The next is her shooting range. Each year Madi has increased her range while keeping her shooting accuracy at a high level. She can flat out shoot it from really deep, which will be great in the half court and in our transition game. I think Madi is set to have a great career ahead of her, and she is going to be fun to watch over the next four years in a Black & Gold uniform."

Molly Masingale is a 5-9 guard from McMinn Central High School in Englewood, Tennessee. Masingale has averaged over 16 points per game in each of her first three high school seasons, adding at least six rebounds per game as well. As a freshman, Masingale was tabbed all-district and all-region, and she has since added two District MVP honors, Region MVP and multiple all-state selections. Entering her senior season, Masingale already boasts 1,816 career points in high school. A three-year starter, Masingale has aided in her McMinn Central squad winning a pair of district and region titles with a state runner-up result her junior year. Masingale has displayed her athleticism in four other sports between a year of track, two years of soccer, a year of tennis and two years of volleyball. Not the only athletic member of her family, Masingale's father, Brent, played football at Tennessee Tech from 1998-99. Off the court, she is in the top 10 percent of her class academically and on track to be her school's valedictorian.

"We have been recruiting Molly for quite some time, and she was our first 2024 commitment. Molly is a talented player that does everything well," Garrity said. "Her basketball IQ allows her to make really good reads for herself and to create for others with her passing skills. Molly is a three-level scorer with deep range and shoots the three at a very high percentage. She is also equally effective off the dribble with the size and strength to get all the way to the basket or hit the pull-up jumper. She will be a tough matchup for opponents. Defensively, Molly has the ability to defend multiple positions. I am really excited for Terrier fans to watch Molly, and I'm looking forward to her impact on our program both on and off the court."

Toni Warren is a 5-11 forward from Cherokee High School in Canton, Georgia. Warren has been a prolific scorer in high school, increasing her average from six points per game as a freshman to 12 and 19 each of the following seasons. She also averages two assists per game and has not averaged fewer than five boards per game. As a junior, Warren was tabbed as the Region 5 -7A Player of the Year alongside CHS MVP and CHS Offensive Player of the Year honors. She is a multi-time all-state and all-county recipient. Warren's play has lifted her Cherokee High School team to a pair of region championships and a region runner-up finish with two Elite Eight appearances. Warren has also starred in track and field in the high jump as well as the 4x4 relay, advancing to sectionals twice. She garnered a first-place result in the triple jump in 2022-23. Hailing from an athletic family, multiple of Warren's cousins have played college sports, including Rasheed Wright at Old Dominion before over a decade of professional basketball in France. Ayana Crawford played volleyball at NC Central, and Catori Crawford played volleyball at Norfolk State. Warren is involved off the court, supporting special needs peers through Friends Club and being a member of Student-Athletes Leading Tomorrow (SALT).

"I can't tell you how excited we were when Toni committed to us. The first thing you notice when watching Toni play is her athleticism and explosiveness," said Garrity. "She just moves different from those she's playing against. She has the ability to play and defend multiple positions. Like Molly, Toni is also a three-level scorer. She has worked hard to improve her range and three-point shot. Opponents are going to have a tough time keeping her in front. Her athleticism allows her to get to the rim and finish with some 'wow' plays. At the same time her mid-range game is deadly, mainly because she has the ability to elevate over her opponent and shoot it at a high percentage. I know Terrier fans are going to love watching Toni play."

The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
