SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced today its selection for women's basketball player of the week as Wofford's Rachael Rose was named the recipient of the honor for a second consecutive week. The selection in made by the league office.
 
This marks the fourth SoCon Player of the Week award for Rose on the season and the fifth for her career, both setting new program records. Rose has claimed four of the seven player of the week recognitions this season.
 
"Rachael had another fantastic game against Tennessee with 23 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and five steals," said head coach Jimmy Garrity. "She does do many different things to have a positive influence on the game. She continues to impress."
 
Playing all 40 minutes last Tuesday at Tennessee, Rose tallied 23 points and 13 rebounds for her second-straight double-double and her third of the season. Those 13 rebounds tied her career high, and she led all players in the contest with both her boards and points. The Scranton, Pennsylvania, native stretched her program-record double-digit scoring streak to 31 games behind 10 made field goals. She added in five assists and five steals, half of Wofford's 10 total swipes in the match-up.
 
Rose and the Terriers (7-5) will hit the court again this weekend with a contest at Georgia to wrap up a three-game road stint. Tip-off against the Bulldogs is set for 12:00 p.m. in Athens on Saturday, December 30. Wofford then returns home to conclude non-conference play two days later on New Year's Day with a 1:00 p.m. battle against North Greenville in Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
