SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College football program announced the signings of ten student-athletes to National Letters of Intent or letters of commitment during the regular signing period that began on Wednesday.
These ten student-athletes join the eight that committed during the early signing period in December, along with four newcomers announced in January, bringing the total number of newcomers to 22 overall.
The Terriers will welcome four players on offense and five players on defense, along with one specialist. The student-athletes are from six different states, including three from South Carolina.
"We are excited about the entire recruiting class we were able to sign in both the early and late periods," said head coach
Shawn Watson. "We feel like we were able to address needs both immediate and future with some very talented players. I appreciate the effort the staff put forth. I think we did a good job of team recruiting to fill out our recruiting needs."
On defense, the newcomers include linebackers Jalen Rambert (Easley, S.C.), Javario Tinch (Calhoun Falls, S.C.), defensive lineman O'marion Brown (Woodbury, Ga.), and defensive backs Tyson Wilkerson (Homewood, Ill.) and Eli Campbell (Sanford, Fla.).
Joining the team on offense are quarterback Amari Odom (Inglewood, Calif.), offensive lineman Khayri Mapson (Douglasville, Ga.), wide receiver Tyler Parker (Tifton, Ga.), and running back J.T. Smith, Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.). Also joining the Terriers is long snapper Tommy DiLiegro (Charleston, S.C.).
The team will begin spring practice on March 21.
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

2023 Newcomers
O'marion Brown (6-3, 260, Woodbury, Georgia) was a three-year starter on the defensive line at Manchester High School. He earned All-State honors and was the team's defensive player of the year. He also played on the basketball team.
Eli Campbell (5-11, 175, Sanford, Fla.) was a three-year starter in the secondary at Seabreeze High School. For his career had 218 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, six interceptions, eight forced fumbles and four defensive touchdowns along with a pair of safeties. During his senior season he had 90 tackles, eleven tackles for loss and five blocked punts to earn first team All-Area honors. He was named the Daytona Beach Quarterback Club Defensive Player of the Year. Also ran track at Seabreeze, primarily the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles and relays.
Tommy DiLiegro (5-10, 200, Charleston, S.C.) was a three-year letterman as the long snapper at Bishop England. In addition to his long snapping duties, he played on the offensive line as a sophomore and junior and at linebacker as a senior. He also was a three-year letterman on the track and field team, competing in the shot put, discus and javelin. His father played football at Merrimack College and his mother is a Wofford graduate.
Khayri Mapson (6-5, 295, Douglasville, Georgia) lettered for four seasons on the offensive line at Lithia Springs High School. He was named first team All-Region and first team All-County as a junior and senior, along with honorable mention All-State honors as a junior. The team reached the playoffs all four seasons, advancing to the second round his junior season. He also was a member of the golf team for two seasons.
Amari Odom (6-5, 190, Inglewood, California) lettered twice in football at Panther Creek High School in Cary, North Carolina and earned All-Conference honors both seasons. As a junior he threw for 3,729 yards with 40 passing touchdowns, along with 335 rushing yards and five touchdowns as he earned All-Conference honors. He missed his senior season due to injury. During his sophomore season he had 2,087 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. He also letters twice in basketball with a pair of All-Conference honors. His mother, Trisha Stafford-Odom, is the head women's basketball coach at North Carolina Central and his father, DeWayne Odom, signed with the San Diego Chargers as a rookie free agent. Both parents were student-athletes at the University of California Berkley.
Tyler Parker (6-3, 200, Tifton, Georgia) was named All-Region three times at Tift County High School. During his four-year career he scored 22 total touchdowns as a wide receiver (sophomore and senior seasons) and a quarterback (freshman and junior seasons). As a senior he had three receiving touchdowns and a kickoff return for a touchdown. He also played basketball for four seasons, earning All-Region honors and offensive player of the year honors twice.
Jalen Rambert (6-1, 240, Easley, S.C.) started for four seasons at linebacker for Powdersville High School. For his career, he recorded 391 tackles, 53 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, five forced fumbles and four interceptions. As a senior the team was 13-2 overall and reached the state championship game. He also earned All-State honors twice in soccer, posting a 21-3 record his junior season. In addition, he added letters in basketball and wrestling. His father, Bernard, was a running back at Clemson.
J.T. Smith, Jr. (5-9, 195, Charlotte, N.C.) was a four-year starter at running back for William Amos Hough High School, earning All-Conference honors all four seasons. During his senior season he had 158 carries with 1,694 total yards and 20 touchdowns. As a junior he had 143 carries with 1,296 total yards and 17 touchdowns. He added All-State honors twice as well. As a freshman the team won a state championship, while reaching the semifinals as a sophomore and junior.
Javario Tinch (6-4, 170, Calhoun Falls, S.C.) won a pair of state championships at safety at Abbeville High School. As a senior the team was 13-2 and won the state title. He had 85 tackles and five interceptions, along with seven touchdowns, to earn All-Region honors. During his junior season he recorded 70 tackles and six interceptions. In his sophomore season he had 40 tackles and five interceptions as the team was undefeated in winning a state championship. He also plays basketball, earning All-State honors as the team won the 2022 region championship.
Tyson Wilkerson (6-1, 185, Homewood, Ill.) played for four seasons at Homewood-Flossmoor at linebacker and both safety positions. He received All-Conference honors. As a senior he had 64 tackles, five tackles for loss and an interception. During his junior season he had 54 tackles and seven pass break-ups. He had 80 tackles as a sophomore, along with six tackles for loss. His father, Samuel, played football at Southern Illinois for
