Wofford welcomes Army West Point to town looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season. In midweek play, the Terriers lost a 4-2 battle at home to Charlotte. The Black Knights come into the contest 1-2 after taking one-of-three at North Alabama last weekend. Army did not play a midweek game. These teams have met only three times, playing a three-game series in Spartanburg back in 2007. Wofford won two of those three games. After weather impacted the opening weekend schedule, Mother Nature is once again making her presence felt. Note that the game time for the Friday opener has changed to 4:05 p.m. from the originally scheduled 5:30 p.m. due to forecasted low temperatures.

Cycling Into History
Sophomore
Ryan Wynn made history in the Sunday finale against Ohio, hitting for the cycle. Wynn is the third Terrier in program history to accomplish the feat, joining Kyle Behrendt (2010) and Josh Hyman (2013). Both of those came on the road, so Wynn is the first to achieve the mark at home. Wynn completed the cycle in the fifth inning, needing just four at-bats. After a first-inning single, he hit a triple and double in the second and third innings, respectively. In the fifth, Wynn launched his first-career home run to complete the historic accomplishment. Just two innings later, Wynn added another blast for his first-career multi-homer contest. Wynn's cycle is the first by a SoCon player since 2019 when Samford's Jordan Fucci did so against Mercer. With five runs scored, Wynn tied the program record for a game. His five hits were one off the program record, and his seven RBI were fourth most in a single game in program history. Wynn was honored as SoCon player of the Week on February 17 for his historic performance.

Nothing for Free
While drawing plenty of walks at the dish, Wofford does not issue many on the mound. Wofford has issued just nine walks. This comes out to a 2.31 walks per nine innings rate, best in the SoCon and 19th in the country.
Cullen Condon and
Sheldon Egger are hitting the zone the best as both have yet to issue a free pass and qualify to rank among the 196 pitchers in the nation with a walks per nine clip of 0.00.

We Got Ice
Among the numerous ways Wofford players reach base is the hit-by-pitch, of which the Terriers wore many last season. In 2024, the Terriers were hit 108 times, a new program record. It was the most in the league and 26th in the country.
Lucas Manning wore the most of any Terrier, being plunked 15 times, fifth most in a season in program history. Wofford is still being plunked at a high rate in 2025, already getting hit 13 times, 10th most in the nation.
Andrew Mannelly has been hit the most at four times.
Ben Timblin has been plunked three times with
Lucas Manning adding two. In all, seven total Terriers have been hit by a pitch thus far. Mannelly is eighth in the nation with his four plunks. With a 1.33 hit by pitch per game rate, Mannelly clocks in at third most in the country.
