SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College football team practiced on Saturday afternoon to complete the second week of spring practice. It was the sixth of fifteen scheduled practices for the Terriers.
During the first full pads practice of the spring, the team continued to work on installing the offense and defense, with a focus on redzone plays. The practice was also part of the first of two junior days scheduled this spring, with the second set for Saturday, April 5.
"I feel really good about where we are at," said head coach
Shawn Watson. "We have gotten the base offense and defense installed. Now that we've had experience in it, the new players and the freshmen from last season are coming along. They're starting to look and feel like a football team. Their efforts have been outstanding. I love the way they're flying around the field and really challenging each other on offense and defense. We haven't had that to this extent since I've been here. Overall, it's been a really good first six practices."
The Terriers will return to the field on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week before taking a week off for spring break.
