Campus has been busy the past month as winter and spring sports are in full swing. The Terriers have already competed in the SoCon Championships for rifle and indoor track and field, with the basketball teams heading to Asheville later this week for the 2025 SoCon Tournament.
A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to induct the Class of 2024 into the Wofford Athletics Hall of Fame. This outstanding group represented what makes being a student-athlete here unique – being able to earn a degree from a top-tier liberal arts institution while competing at the highest levels in athletics in a supportive community.
We look forward to what our coaches and student-athletes can achieve during the spring semester!

HOOPS AGAINST HUNGER
The Southern Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committees are supporting a "SAAC Gives Back" initiative to coincide with the basketball championships. Hotels hosting teams participating in the SoCon Tournament are competing to collect food for Eblen Charities in Asheville. Donations can be dropped off at the Wofford team hotels or at the Eblen table at the SoCon Tournament.
NEW MEN'S SOCCER HEAD COACH
Ryan Osborne has been named the new head coach of the men's soccer program. Osborne spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin and previously was the head coach at Mercyhurst. In 2024 at Wisconsin, the team was 7-5-3 overall, which included top-25 wins over Kentucky and UCLA. Forward Dean Boltz was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. The native of Wakefield, England, Osborne was 37-5-3 in three-plus seasons at Mercyhurst and was named conference Coach of the Year twice.
SOCON INDOOR TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP
The men's and women's track and field teams continue to excel under the leadership of head coach Johnny Bomar. At the 2025 SoCon Indoor Championships that wrapped up over the weekend, the women were second overall for the fourth time in the last five years and the men were sixth. Southern Conference titles were won by Sherika Christie (long jump and triple jump) and Olivia Bagg (pentathlon). Christie was named the Women's Most Outstanding Athlete for the second consecutive year and a total of eleven All-SoCon honors were garnered by the teams. We look forward to seeing what they can do during the outdoor season.
BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL UNDERWAY
The baseball and softball teams have both gotten off to strong starts to open the season. Baseball has an 11-1 record, which includes series wins over Ohio University and Army West Point. Softball has hosted three tournaments and has posted a 14-6 overall record, with three SoCon Players of the Week honors so far! Hope Field will be the host of the 2025 Southern Conference Tournament in May.
