Trio of Terriers Honored in SoCon Baseball Year-End Balloting

Rasmussen earns second-team honors while Hardin and Condon named all-freshman

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has announced its year-end honors for baseball as voted on by the league's eight head coaches. Wofford sports three honorees, including Carter Rasmussen on the All-SoCon Second Team with Cullen Condon and Tanner Hardin both tabbed to the SoCon All-Freshman Team. The league's coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

"We are really happy and excited for Carter, Cullen, and Tanner to be recognized in the All-SoCon awards," said head coach J.J. Edwards. "This is a deep and highly competitive league, so any time you get to see your name recognized is truly special. They've worked hard, and we're proud to see them earn these honors."

This is Rasmussen's first-career All-SoCon selection, and it marks five-straight seasons that the Terriers have placed a relief pitcher on the All-SoCon squads. Condon and Hardin earning all-freshman team honors mark eight consecutive seasons (COVID-impacted 2020 campaign excluded – no year-end awards) in which at least two Terriers were honored as all-freshman selections.

Rasmussen, a right-handed pitcher from Justin, Texas, has made his presence felt in his first season with Wofford. The junior sports a 3.48 ERA over 44.0 innings of work in his 17 outings with one start. He boasts a 6-2 record to lead the team in wins, and he adds three saves to also top the squad. He adds a team-high 56 punchouts to just 15 walks with opponents hitting only .221 against him. Saving his best for last, Rasmussen is currently on a streak of four-straight appearances without surrendering a run, totaling 12.1 consecutive scoreless innings. Rasmussen ranks fourth in the conference with his six wins, and his three saves are sixth. He was named SoCon Pitcher of the Week on May 12.

Condon, a right-handed pitcher from Manasquan, New Jersey, sports a 6.39 ERA with a 2-3 record in 12 appearances, 11 starts. He has tossed 43.2 innings with 36 strikeouts. He has a pair of quality starts this season, including a 10-strikeout affair against Army West Point. Those 10 punchouts are tied for the most by a freshman in the program's Division I era. Condon's breakout campaign would see him earn the game one nod in three-straight weekend series during the season, and his lone relief outing was a one-run performance over 2.1 innings against Mercer.

Hardin, a second baseman from Union, South Carolina, has opened his career with authority since slotting into the every day starting role up the middle. He touts a .350 average over 49 games, including 41 starts. He totals 48 hits with four doubles, 21 runs scored, and 25 runs batted in. The rest of his slash line features a .435 on-base mark and .380 slugging clip as he adds 17 walks. On the bases he's a near-perfect 16-of-18 on steals, and in the field he sports a .974 clip with only four errors committed. Hardin is fifth in the conference for batting average and first among freshmen.

Wofford is 31-25 with an 8-13 SoCon record at the end of the regular season. The 2025 Southern Conference Championship presented by Holston Gases begins tomorrow at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina, with the Terriers entering as the No. 7 seed. Wofford's opening contest is against No. 6 UNCG at 7:00 p.m.
