SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced on Wednesday the Academic All-Conference teams for the 2025 spring season. Wofford had a school-record 83 student-athletes honored this winter and spring, topping the previous mark of 71 in 2023.
All 10 SoCon institutions were represented on the team, which honored 507 student-athletes earning 602 total selections from the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track and field, rifle, wrestling, men's and women's golf, men's and women's outdoor track and field, men's and women's tennis, baseball and softball. Nine affiliate institutions were also included.
To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the spring semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
Among Wofford teams, women's outdoor track had 14 honorees to lead the Terriers. Women's indoor track had 11, with men's outdoor track and softball adding ten each.
Samford led the way this spring with 88 Academic All-SoCon selections. Wofford was a close second with 83 student-athletes on the team, and UNC Greensboro followed in third with 72 honorees.
This is the 23
rd year that the Southern Conference has named an Academic All-Conference Team by season.
