GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Wofford women's golf team competed on Friday, February 20 to Sunday, February 22 at the par-72 Golf Course at Great Waters in the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational.
Bella Kent led the Terriers with a five-over par 221 to place tied for tenth place to secure her second top ten finish of the 2025-2026 season. Wofford concluded the tournament with a total team score of 918 to place 12
th.
Southern Conference member Mercer hosted the three-day tournament with a pool of 15 teams that included No. 36 Virginia Tech and fellow SoCon members UNC-Greensboro, ETSU and Western Carolina.
After a rain delay on the first day of the tournament, Wofford finished with a score of 314 before coming back on day two to card a score of 300. The Terriers concluded the tournament with a score of 304 on Sunday to finish 55-over par. No. 36 Virginia Tech came out on top, finishing with a four-over par 868 to place first. South Dakota State's McKenzie Mages finished in first place with a four-under par 212.
Bella Kent started the first day with a three-over par 75 before coming back to card a 74 on the second day. On the final day, Kent bounced back to finish equal to par at 72 to secure a tie for tenth place with a score of 221. Kent had the fifth best par-four average with a 3.97 and the seventh most birdies with 10. This is also Kent's tenth top ten finish in her career at Wofford.
Freshman
Valeria Melo followed with a 10-over par 226 to tie for 31
st. Melo opened day one with an 80, before coming back to shoot a 73 in day two. Melo would finish the tournament with a 73 to secure her spot for 31
st. Melo had the second-best par-five average with a 4.75 to end the tournament.
Lilli Horn was next in the lineup for the Terriers to place tied for 49
th with a 16-over 232. Horned opened play with a five-over 77, before scoring a 76 on day two. Horn would finish with a 79. Horn finished the tournament with the fewest double bougies with one.
Delaney Wade finished the tournament with a 23-over 239 to place to tie for 67
th place. Wade started off with an 82 on day one before improving by five strokes for a five-over 77 on day two. Wade would conclude play with an 80 to secure her spot for 67
th.
Sofia Pedrero finished the tournament with a score of 246 (88-78-80).
The Terriers will be back in action as they host the Low Country Intercollegiate on March 9 and 10 in Hilton Head, S.C., at the Golf Club at Indigo Run.
