Football Welcomes Nine Transfers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College football program has announced that nine transfers have been added to the 2026 roster. The group includes five defensive players, two offensive players, and two specialists who enrolled for the spring semester at Wofford.
 
The regular signing period will begin on February 4, 2026, and spring practice is slated to begin on March 3.  
 
In addition, three December signees enrolled for interim. The three are QB Kaeden Gilstrap (Marietta, Ga.), DB Marek Marcellus (Cooper City, Fla.), and DB Jovon Williams (West Haven, Conn.).

2026 Newcomers
 
Acie Hatfield (5-11, 187, Greenville, S.C.) played in the fall at The Citadel but did not see game action. A four-year letterman at Christ Church, he recorded 200 career tackles with a pair of interceptions. He was named All-Region twice and all-state once as the team won a pair of state championships.
 
Christian Higgins (6-1, 230, Mount Olive, Ala.) spent the 2025 season at West Alabama. A four year-letterman at Gardendale High School, he had 21 career tackles. The team reached the playoffs three times, including a 6A Region 5 Championship.
 
Esom Nnajiofor (6-4, 285, Lynchburg, Va.) played two seasons at Liberty on the offensive line. He spent the 2023 season at Fork Union Military Academy for a postgraduate season. He was an offensive lineman at Liberty Christian Academy
 
Breyson Palmer (5-11, 185, Raleigh, N.C.) played in all twelve games at Davidson in 2025. He had 35 punts for a 38.49 average, including a long of 57 yards and seven inside the 20. He kicked off 26 times with a 53.0 average and had four touchbacks. He was a three-year letterwinner at Millbrook High School and finished with 76 touchbacks on 129 kickoffs.
 
Joseph Polite (6-1, 285, Springfield, Ga.) played in two games last season for West Georgia. He played defensive line at Effingham County High School. He made 62 tackles as a senior with 2 sacks and an interception. He was named All-State twice and All-Region twice.
 
Micah Pryor (6-2, 260, Roswell, Ga.) did not see game action in the fall of 2025 at Delaware. He was a three-year starter at Greater Atlanta Christian School. He earned all-state and all-region first-team honors. As a senior, recorded 49 tackles, 9.0 TFLs, and 5.0 sacks. He finished his career with 108 tackles, 19.0 TFLs, and 11.5 sacks.
 
Moritz Schmoranzer (6-4, 290, Langenfeld, Germany) spent the 2025 season at Appalachian State but did not see game action. He redshirted as a true freshman at Pitt in 2024. A two-way standout for perennial Virginia power North Cross, he moved to the United States from Germany for his sophomore year of high school. He was a Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II All-State selection on both offense (first team) and defense (second team).
 
Jeremiah Shelby (6-4, 300, Pensacola, Fla.) spent the fall of 2025 at Air Force Prep. A four-year letterman at Pensacola Catholic, he played in 37 career games with 158 total tackles, 44 tackles for loss and 21 sacks. He earned All-Area honors three times and was also named first team All-State. As a senior, he had 60 total tackles, 13 sacks and 22 tackles for loss.
 
Corey Williams (6-2, 205, Clayton, Delaware) played the 2024 and 2025 seasons at Saint Francis. In 2025, he played in all eleven games with 50 total tackles to rank fourth on the team. A two-year letterman at Smyrna High School, he recorded 77 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 22 pass breakups, seven interceptions and one forced fumble in his career. As a senior, he was a First Team All-State and All-District selection with 39 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and four interceptions.
