Spartanburg, S.C. – The Wofford women's basketball team had their first practice of the 2017-18 season Tuesday afternoon in the new Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

Jimmy Garrity, who begins his second season at Wofford took his team through a nearly three hour long practice that included a variety of drills, in game situations and scrimmages.

"We are really excited to come together as a group with all 12 of our players on the floor at one time," Garrity said. "We are very pleased with the way practice went tonight. Even though we made a few mistakes I was really proud of the way our players adjusted and played through errors. Most importantly I felt like we were great teammates to one another, which will only help our growth as a team throughout the season."

The Terriers 2017-18 roster consists of four upperclassmen, and eight underclassmen including five true freshmen. 2016-17 Second Team All-Socon selection
Chloe Wanink and
Kelsey Lambdin are the lone returning starters for Coach Garrity and his staff. The Terriers welcome five true freshman to campus in
Jamari McDavid,
Olivia Mills,
Sophia Hughes,
Anna Claire Atha and
Da'Ja Green.

Wofford will have to replace the presence of
Maria Corella,
Grayson Pinholster,
Sarah Traynor and
Kentra Washington who started in a combined 102 games while scoring just under half of the team's points in the 2016-17 season.

Wofford opens the 2017-18 season on Saturday, November 12 when the Terriers travel to Athens to face off against SEC opponent Georgia. Wofford will play its first home game on Thursday, November 16 against Southern Wesleyan University at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
