SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Senior tennis player Scott Collins has been named team captain for the 2008-2009 season. The selection is based on a unanimous team vote along with a coach’s vote. Collins is the lone senior on this year’s team coupled with three freshman and four sophomores.

“He sets a great example as a leader and as a player. A leader should be strong and humble and Scott is both,” stated Coach Ray. “Coming off an individual conference record of 5-3 last year, Scott knows what it takes to be successful and has continued to make great strides as a player this fall. He has worked very hard to improve and it shows. Scott is a perfect captain for this year’s team.”

Wofford will open the spring season on the road at SEC foe South Carolina on January 17 at 10 a.m.
