SUNSET BEACH, N.C. -- The Wofford men's golf team fired an Even-par 288 during the final round Sunday to finish sixth out of 18 schools at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate at the par 72, 6,761-yard Sea Trail Resort course in Sunset Beach, N.C.

The Terriers ended the event with a 298-300-288--886 (+22), 18 shots behind team winner Murray State. The Racers finished 10 strokes ahead of second-place Guilford.

Junior Garrett Medeiros paced the Wofford contingent with a fourth-place tying 72-72-71--215 (-1). He was one of five players under par.

Senior Drew Perry was the next Terrier in the clubhouse with a 76-75-70--221 (+5) to tie for 23rd. Junior Mike McKenzie garnered a 32nd-place tie following a 74-76-73--223 (+7).

Rookie Brent Whitehead notched a 76-77-74--227 (+11) to tie for 51st, while fellow freshman Ben Wright finished with a 70th-place tying result after carding a 76-81-75--232 (+16).

Elon's Steve Dressel won the medalist crown after hitting a 4-under par 69-74-69--212.

Wofford will return to action Oct. 6-7 at the Stono Cup at The Links at Stono Ferry in Hollywood, S.C.
