Men’s Golf Signs on Banks Steele and Cameron Sharp to 2026-2027 Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford men's head golf coach Todd Eckstein has announced the signings of Banks Steele and Cameron Sharp to join the Terriers next fall.

"We're very excited to have Banks and Cameron joining our program in the fall of next year," coach Eckstein said. "Both are relentless workers that have improved greatly over their careers in junior golf and expect that to continue during their time at Wofford. Together, I think they'll continue to elevate us toward competing at the highest-level of college golf."

Steele is a native of Lancaster, South Carolina, and attends Andrew Jackson High School. During his time at Andrew Jackson, Steele was named to All-State two years in a row and was the State Individual Runner-Up. Steele was also the HV3 Invitation Champion. Besides golf, Steele plays soccer at Andrew Jackson.

"Banks came onto our radar with a win at the HV3 Invitational in March and continued his impressive play throughout the summer with good finishes at the South Carolina Junior and Grant Bennett while also qualifying for the US Junior," Eckstein said. "He's one of the few student-athletes I've gone to watch in-person who consistently raised his level of play every time I went to watch him. He's a high-quality person off the course and know he'll have a positive impact on the program in many ways."

Sharp is from Blacksburg, Virginia, where he attends Blacksburg High School. During his time at Blacksburg, he was named First Team All-District three years in a row, First Team All-State the past two years, and was the 2025 Region Player of the Year. Sharp led his team to four state and regional championship titles, along with one national championship title.

"I've been able to follow Cameron's development since first meeting him in 2019 while living in Blacksburg," Eckstein said. "He's worked on his mechanics and speed diligently over the last few years and, once healthy, put together a nice run of play this year at the Virginia State Junior, National High School Invitational (which his team won), and capped it by winning his third consecutive TJGT The Star Open in Roanoke. Cameron knows what to expect from a college golf environment and I think he'll fit in right away at Wofford."

The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
