Wofford was unable to control balls in the air early in the match, giving up the first two goals off corner kick/ crossing situations. UNCG’s first goal came near the two minute mark in the opening part of the match. Stine Schoening pushed a ball to the foot of Cat Barnekow, who dribbled it up the right seam of the field and put a high cross in the air toward the Wofford box. Lauren Hein rose up to take the ball on the head and knocked it just past the out stretched hands of Terrier goalkeeper, Katie McChesney. Hein earned her fourth goal of the season and would also go on to lead the team in shots and shots on goal for the Spartans.
The second Greensboro score came four minutes later from a set up off a corner kick. UNCG forced in a corner kick that bounced around the box until it deflected to Jaimey Etten, who put the ball in from about ten yards outside the net. The goal gave Etten her third of the season and put the Spartans up 2-0.
The third goal for the Spartans came four minutes later, near the 11 minute mark. UNCG’s Jenn Partenheimer took a through ball on the run, sneaking past the Wofford defense and dribbling toward Wofford goalkeeper, McChesney. McChesney slid as Parenheimer shot and saved the one-on-one opportunity, but the ball bounced right back to Partenheimer, who scored the ball on an open net. The goal was Partenheimer’s sixth of the season, and gave the Spartans a three goal lead that they would hold out to the end of the match.

She was placed at the forward position late in the match, and created a few threatening opportunities that nearly put Wofford on the board. She had a streamline shot in the 79th minute, aimed toward the left side-netting that forced UNCG keeper Kelsey Kearney to make a diving save to keep the Terriers off the scoreboard.
