Spartanburg, S.C. – The Wofford women’s tennis team was defeated by Elon on Sunday afternoon in a Southern Conference matchup at the Reeves Tennis Center by a score of 6-1. The loss puts the Terriers record at 1-20 on the year and 0-9 in the Southern Conference. Elon improves to 14-7 on the season and 5-4 in the Southern Conference.

Elon won the doubles point to start the match 2-1. The Terriers were led by Haley Baird and Guinn Garcia who defeated Anna Milian and Elisa Simonetti 8-2 at number one doubles. In singles completion Elon won the first five matches on their way to a 6-1 victory. In the final match of the day Sonia Anand defeated Jessica Margolis at number six singles 6-0, 6-2 for her first singles victory of the season.

Wofford will close out the 2010 season on Wednesday, April 14 when they will host Davidson at 4:00 at the Reeves Tennis Center.
