CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The Wofford men’s and women’s track and field team set six school records and had six top ten finishes at the University of North Carolina’s Kent Taylor UNC Run for the Kids indoor meet Saturday.
Mike McCrimon set two school marks with a distance of 6.72m in the men's long jump and 13.53m in the men's triple jump.
In the mile run on the women's side, Aylssa Burkett set a new school record with a tenth place finish with a time of 5:24.51 on the women’s side. She broke the previous mark by two seconds.
In the women’s high jump, Kaitlin Brown took fourth with a height of 1.60m setting a new school record. It was the first time a Terrier had competed in the indoor high jump in the Division I era.
Katie Kessler took seventh place for a top ten finish in the women’s 800m run with a time of 2:23.14.
In the women’s 4x400m relay the Terrier squad of Carolina Burdett, MacKenzie Degraff, Alyssa Burkett and Caitlin Dodd finished with a time of 4:14.31 setting a new school record.
On the men’s side, Chase West set a school mark with time of 2:00.27 in the 800m run. His mark broke the record by a second.
The Terriers will compete in the Gene Anderson Meet back in Chapel, Hill on February 12 for their next meet.
