DULUTH, GA. – The Wofford men’s golf team finished in tenth place after the 54-hole AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic at the Berkley Hills Country Club Monday and Tuesday with a score of 897.
North Florida took the top spot with a three-stroke lead over Chattanooga 855-857. East Carolina took third with an 870, and Minnesota finished in fourth with an 872. Georgia Southern and Georgia State tied for fifth with an 884.
Zach Capps led the Terriers with a 78-72-70—220 to finish in a tie for 13th. He jumped 16 spots in the final round with his two-under round of 70. Hayes Brown finished tied for 29th with a 75-71-78—224, while Brent Whitehead finished in a tie for 44th after an 82-70-76—228. Chandler Brazeal carded a 71-82-77-230, and Mark Joye ended the tournament with an 82-78-88—237.
Brent McKenzie finished with an 80-69-80—229 to finish tied for 53rd as an individual.
Wofford will compete in the Hummingbird Intercollegiate for its next tournament on October 31.
