Track and Field Team Has Good Showing in Terrier Relays

Results

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams hosted the inaugural Terrier Relays Saturday at Viking track with a solid performance turned in by both squads.  The Terriers Relays was a unique team scored relay-style event.

Men's 5000m
Matt Menard was the only Terrier to compete in the event.  He ran a time of 16:50.34 to finish in tenth overall.

Women's 4x1600m Relay
The Terriers finished in fourth place and scored six points with a time of 22:30.59.

Men's 4x400m Relay
Wofford ran a 3:46.92 and finished in eight place.

Women's 4x400m Relay
The Wofford relay team took second with a time of 4:08.27 winnig eight points.

Women's Javelin
Ashleigh Padgett threw a 30.71m to finish in thrid place, while Kathleen Woods threw a distance of 19.8m for 18th place.  Wofford finished in fourth in the event. 

Women's High Jump
The Wofford women finished tied for second in the high jump event. The Terriers finished with a total mark of 3. Wofford's Kaitlin Brown posted a 1.55m mark and Tiffani Beebe jumped a 1.45m mark.

Women's Distance Medley Relay
The Wofford women finished in fourth in the distance medley relay. The Terriers finished with a time of 13:27.82 and earn five points. Caitlin Dodd, Nicole Klasnic, Kim Stauffer, Caroline Burdett ran for the Terriers.

Men's Distance Medley Relay
The Wofford men finished in fifth in the Distance Medley Event. The Terriers finished with a time of 11:11.18. Mavrick Harris, Ben Boyles, Chase Wolfe and Russell Baker competed in the event.

Women's 1600 Meter Sprint Medley Relay
The Wofford women finished second in the 1600 Meter Sprint Medley Relay. The Terriers finished with a time of 4:17.08, helping move the women to sixth overall in the team score.

Men's Shot Put
The Wofford men finished in eigth in the shot put. Andrew McCurry had the lone throw for the Terriers and posted an 11.25m mark.

Women Discus Throw

The Wofford women finished in sixth in the discus. Kathleen Woods had the lone throw and finished with a 27.46 mark.

Men's 1600 Meter Sprint Medley Relay
The Wofford men posted the best results for the first heat of the event, but finished third overall in the final results. The Terriers posted a 3:42.64 time. 

Men's High Jump
Wofford finished in first for the men's high jump. Joe Bailey posted the best result in the event with a 1.95m jump. Chase Wolfe tallied a 1.75m jump and the Terriers totaled a 3.7 mark.

Men's 4x800 Meter Relay
The Wofford men finished in fourth in the 4x800 meter relay finals. The men finished with a 8:08.56 time.

Men's Javelin Throw
The Wofford men finishd in fourth with a final mark of 81.61 and five points. Andrew McCurry finished with a 40.76 mark and Chris Visage finished in seventh with a 40.85 mark.

Women's Javelin Throw

The Wofford women fnished in fourth with a final mark of 50.51 and six points. Wofford's Ashleigh Padgett threw for third with a 30.71 mark and Kathleen Woods threw for a 19.8 mark.

Women's 5000 Meter
Saturday, April 2 2010
The Wofford women finished in third with a total score of 6. The women finished in total time of 42:34:44.

Women's 4x800m Relay
Saturday, April 2, 2010,12:30 a.m.
The Wofford women finished in third place with a time of 9:48.00.  Katie Kessler anchored the Terriers in the 4x800m.
 
Men's 4x800m Relay
Wofford's team finished in third place with a time of 8:08.56 scoring six points.

Wofford will travel to the Duke Invite for their next meet on April 8 through April 9.
