Two Terriers Topple School Records in Opening Indoor Track and Field Meet

CLEMSON, S.C. – Joe Bailey set the indoor school record in the high jump, and Alissa Williams set the indoor school record In the 3,000m as the Wofford Terriers had six top five finishes in their opening indoor track and field meet at the two-day Clemson Invitational.
 
Bailey finished the high jump in second place with a height of 1.96m to break the indoor school record, while Williams finished the 3,000m in second place with a time of 10:26.88 to break the previous mark by three seconds.
 
For the women’s team, Katie Kessler finished just outside the top five in sixth plac with a time of 2:21.38 in the 800m.  Sam Hughes ran a personal best in the 5,000m with a time of 18:32.90 for third place, while Carly Egan just missed the top five with with a sixth place finish crossing the finish line at 19:04.13.  The 4x400m relay team took fifth with a time of 4:09.99.
 
On the men’s side, Bryan Youman made it into the finals with a time of 7.25 in the prelims of the 60m dash.  He ran a 7.26 in the finals and finished in 11th.  Mavrick Harris finished in fourth place in the 5,000m with a time of 16:23.98, while the 4x400m relay team took third with a time of 3:35.57.
 
The Terriers will return to the track on February 4 at the Kent Taylor Invitational host by UNC Chapel Hill.
