Three Wofford School Records Fall at JDL Fast Track Meet

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Led by six personal records and three school records in the 60m hurdles by Keenan Langley, in the 400m by Alyssa Burkert and by the women’s distance medley team of Emily Gothberg, Katie Kessler, Nicole Klasnic and Burkert the men’s and women’s track and field team completed the JDL Fast Track Meet Saturday.
 
Burkert finished with a time of 1:01.50 in the 400m dash for the second time in as many weeks taking down the Wofford school record. She finished 14th in the meet.
 
Langley also for the second straight week snapped a Wofford record with a time of 9.71 seconds in the 60m hurdles and finished in 25th place.
 
The DMR team had the best finished in an event Saturday taking first place with a time of 13:59.83 en route to their school record.
 
On the women’s side, Wofford also had nine top 20 finishes with Kaitlin Brown’s seventh place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.55m leading the way.  In the mile run, Wofford place three runners in the top 20 – Klasnic with a time of 5:24.55 for 14th and a personal record, Andrea Kelsey with a time of 5:38.98 for 19th and Sam Hughes with a time of 5:39.71 in 20th.  In the 800m, Alissa Williams took 18th with a time of 2:23.20, and Kessler finished in 19th with a time of 2:23.81.
 
On the men’s side, four personal best and three top 20 finishes highlight the meet.  Joe Bailey led the way with a height of 1.85m in the high jump for sixth place, while two relay teams took 16th with a time of 3:36.37 and 20th with a time of 3:58.27 in the 4x400m relay.  Bryan Youman set a new personal record with a time of 7.22 in the 60m and in the 200m with a time of 25.30.  Rusell Baker also had a personal record in the 800m with a time of 4:49.48.
 
Wofford will return to the track on February 17 in Boone, N.C. at Appalachian State for its next meet.
