MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Led by Alan King’s 219, the Wofford men’s golf team finished 12th at the Bash at the Beach on the par-72, 6,817 yard The Surf Golf and Beach Club.
King paced the Terriers with an opening round 75 before following up with two rounds of 72 over the final rounds to earn his 219 and a tie for 16th place.
Xavier’s Sebastian MacLean, 72-68-66—206, and Campbell’s Vaita Guillaume, 69-67-70—206, finished tied for first at the event.
As a team the Terriers shot a 311-298-289—898, while Campbell took first with a 291-285-285—861.
Brent McKenzie finished in a tie for 28th with an 81-72-69—222, while Brent Whitehead finished just inside the top 50 in a tie for 47th with a 76-78-72—236. Hayes Brown carded an 80-76-76—232, while George Perkovich ended the three day event with an 80-7-76—234.
Wofford will return to course with the Furman Intercollegiate on March 16 through March 18 in Greenville, S.C. for its next tournament.
