SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women’s tennis team fell to Chattanooga by a 5-2 score Saturday afternoon in SoCon action at the Reeves Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Terriers drop to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in Southern Conference play. The Lady Mocs improve to 11-3 on the year, and 3-2 in league action.
In doubles play, the pairing of Sarah Evans and Guinn Garcia defeated Alexa Flynn and Kaylene Chadwell (8-7(2)) at the No. 1 position, but the Lady Mocs took the remaining two matches to earn the point.
In singles play, Chattanooga took four matches to seal the overall win. At the No. 1 position, Sarah Evans defeated Jenna Nurik (7-5, 4-6, 7-5), and Othilia Lindqvist defeated Claire Mulyadi (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) at the No. 5 position.
The Terriers return to action tomorrow afternoon, hosting Samford. The match is scheduled for a noon start time at the Reeves Tennis Center.
