CHARLESTON, S.C. – The 2012 campaign for the Wofford College women’s tennis team came to an end Thursday afternoon as the Terriers fell to Elon by a 4-0 score in the opening round of the 2012 Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championships.

The Terriers finish the season with an overall record of 6-15, while the Phoenix improve to 16-8 overall.
 
The match, which was delayed several times due to rain, began with doubles play where Elon took the first two decision to earn the doubles point.  The match at the No. 3 position between Othilia Lindqvist and Samantha Sullivan and Briana Berne and Viviana Stavreva was not finished.

In singles action, Elon took the first three decisions to seal the overall match win.  Matches at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 positions were unfinished.
 
The 2012 Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championships will take place throughout the weekend, with the championship match taking place Sunday afternoon in Charleston, S.C.
