Women’s Relay Foursome Takes Down Three School Records at Terrier Relays

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men’s and women’s track and field teams saw four school records fall, including three records by one relay foursome at the Terriers Relays Saturday at Viking Track.
 
On the women’s side, the 4x800m team of Nicole Klasnic, Katie Kessler, Alyssa Burkert and Emily Gothberg set the school record with first place finish and a time of 9:21.47.  The foursome also set the school record in the sprint medley relay with a time of 4:06.28 and another first place finish.  The foursome also took first in the final event of the day, the 4x400m, with a time of 3:57.30. 
 
The women’s DMR team of Kiersten Ellsworth, Megan Kauffman, Andrea Kelsey and Sam Hughes set the school record with a time of 13:24.92 and took second place.
 
Alissa Williams took first with a time of 18:38.82 in the 5,000m.
 
Kathleen Woods set a personal best and finished fifth with a distance of 34.19m and had a solid finish in eighth with a distance of 1.56m in the shot put.
 
On the men’s side, Joe Bailey set a personal best in the long jump and took sixth with a distance of 6.50m.  Tyrell Jemison also set a personal mark with a time of 11.54 in the 100m and finished in 11th.
 
The Terriers will return to the track at Western Carolina for their next meet on April 13.
