Men's Soccer Wins Exhibition At Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. - On Thursday afternoon, the Wofford men's soccer team defeated Presbyterian College 3-0 in an exhibition contest. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday in Spartanburg, but was postponed due to rain.

In the first of three 30 minute periods, Wofford scored three goals all in the first 15 minutes. Carlos Dominguez Gonzalez opened the scoring with a header that beat Presbyterian starting goal keeper Tyler Beadle.  Alex Hutchins headed home a corner from Carlos Dominguez Gonzalez to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead.  Forrest Lasso added the final score on a header from a long throw in by Billy Padula.  Neither team was able to add goals in the second or third period of the game.

Andrew Drennan started the game in goal, played 60 minutes, and recorded two saves.  Mike Nichols played the last 30 minute period and helped to preserve the 3-0 shutout win.

Wofford will travel to Clemson on Saturday for an exhibition game at 7:00 p.m. The regular season begins on August 25 at Wake Forest.
