SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Southern Conference announced its weekly men's soccer honors with Wofford's Clemens Astrup receiving defensive player of the week. This honor is the first of Astrup's career. The selections are made by the league office.

Astrup was the driving force in Wofford's 4-0 win over Liberty. Astrup and the Wofford defense blocked an impressive 10 Liberty shots and held the Flames to only 4 shots on goal despite having 19 total shots. The Terriers' defense earned their fourth shutout win of the season and have only allowed one goal in four conference games so far. Astrup also opened the scoring for the Terriers, sending a through ball behind the defense in the 37th minute, which was passed back to him in the box, where the freshman found the back of the net for his first goal of his collegiate career, putting Wofford up 1-0.

The Terriers return to play at home on Saturday against the UNCG Spartans at Snyder Field, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. Wofford's final match of the regular season will be against the Furman Paladins in Greenville, South Carolina on October 31st.
