Men’s Soccer Defeats Clemson in Exhibition, 3-1

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Wofford men’s soccer team defeated Clemson in an exhibition Saturday night, 3-1.  Forrest Lasso scored twice and Ethan Miller added a goal for the Terriers.

Neither team could find the net in the first half. In the 46th minute, Forrest Lasso headed home a throw-in by Billy Padula to give the Terriers a 1-0 advantage. Wofford would extend its lead three minutes later when Nestor Jaramillo and Connor Davis assisted on Lasso’s second goal off a corner kick. Clemson would respond in the 52nd minute with a header by Austin Savage off Ty Casner’s corner.  Ethan Miller scored the final goal in the 71st on a shot assisted by Kevin Hady.

The two teams also played a shootout of penalty kicks.  Clemson won this round 5-2.

Andrew Drennan played all 90 minutes, made six saves on 13 shots, and allowed one goal.  Clemson goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell allowed three goals in 75 minutes.

Wofford begins the regular season on Saturday, August 25th at Wake Forest.
