Terriers Drop Season Opener at Winthrop 7-0 Sunday Afternoon

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Wofford women’s tennis was defeated 7-0 in their first match of the 2013 season on the road at Winthrop Sunday afternoon.
 
In doubles play, Winthrop won the first two matches to claim the doubles point.  On the singles side, Lucy Schermerhorn won her first set against Ekin Gunaysu at the No. 5 position, but dropped the next two as Gunaysu claimed the victory (4-6, 6-2, 6-0).  The Eagles won the other five singles matches in straight sets to claim the 7-0 victory.
 
The Terriers return to the court Saturday January 26th when they host the Aggies of North Carolina A & T at Reeves Tennis Center on campus.
