Team & Individual Results

MADISON, Wis. – Wofford men's golf senior George Perkovich recorded the best 54-hole score of his collegiate career, completing the Wisconsin Badger Invitational Tuesday at 1-over-par 217 to lead the Terriers to sixth place.

Perkovich didn't save his best round of the tournament for Tuesday, but managed to finish the day with a 4-over-par 76 to record the first top 10 of his collegiate career. The senior shot a career-low 4-under-par 68 in the second round on Monday, along with a 1-over-par 73 Sunday.

Windy conditions with gusts up to 20 miles per hour affected all of the teams during final-round play at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis. Wofford was no exception, beginning the day at 12 over par through 36 holes and shooting a final-round score of 16-over-par 308. The 16-over round actually helped the Terriers climb from beginning the day in seventh place to finishing the tournament one stroke ahead of Rutgers University for sixth at 28 over par (892).

Freshman Andrew Novak was one of just seven individuals to shoot under par on Tuesday. Novak carded a collegiate-best round of 2-under-par 70 – his first ever round under par – to leap 34 spots on the final day. The freshman began the day tied for 52nd place and finished the tournament tied for 18th with s 6-over 222.

Junior Brannon Hudson shot his second consecutive round of 6-over-par 78 and completed the tournament tied for 33rd at 10-over 226. Junior Cory Taylor finished 15 over par in a tie for 52nd place and senior Chandler Brazeal tied for 65th at 20 over.

South Carolina won the 14-team tournament with an eight-under-par 856, winning by 24 strokes over second-place Kansas who was 16 over par with a team score of 880.

The Terriers take a week off from competition before getting back to action Sunday, Oct. 13, beginning the three-day Donald Ross Intercollegiate from Morganton, N.C.
