CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic on Friday and Saturday on the campus of Western Carolina University. The Terriers set a total of seven school records in the meet, along with numerous top ten finishes. Overall the women finished sixth out of 14 teams and the men were fifth out of 14 teams.

On Friday,
Alexandra Burgess took second place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.79 meters to break her previous school record.
Alex King was seventh in the women's hammer throw, while
Emily Williams was third in the javelin.
Tevin Johnson was fifth in the long jump and
Omar Mingo was fifth in the triple jump.
Gaston Hayworth finished second in the hammer throw at 46.33 meters.

For the women on Saturday,
Amber Lust set a new school record in the 100 meters with a time of 12.31.
McLeod Dean lowered her school mark in the 200 meters to 25.66.
LeAndrea Combo was ninth in the 400 meters,
Anya Bunao was eighth in the 1500 meters and
Sara Wilson was eighth in the 400 meter hurdles.
Amber Lust added a school record in the 100 meter hurdles, lowering the mark to 15.05.
Alexandra Burgess set her second record of the meet with a distance of 5.28 meters in the long jump to finish sixth.
Alex King was seventh in the discus and
Sara Jane Hayes took seventh in the heptathlon. The 4x100 relay was fifth in a school record time of 48.09, while the 4x400 relay was seventh.

On the men's side on Saturday,
Joe Harbacevich was third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.74 to set a new school record.
Ben Boatwright took 12
th place in the 3000 meter steeplechase and the 4x400 relay team finished eighth.
Tevin Johnson was fifth in the high jump. Longinus Nnodim took ninth in the shot put and
Gaston Hayworth was seventh in the discus.
Conrad Heinrich (5798) and
Sam Robinson (5673) were second and third in the decathlon.

Wofford will compete next at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 22-23 in Atlanta. The outdoor season will conclude for the Terriers on May 11-12 at the Southern Conference Championships.
