SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams took part in the Western Carolina Invitational on Friday afternoon. The team finished third of eight teams on the men's side and the women were sixth of eight teams.

For the women,
McLeod Dean lowered her school record in the 200 meters to 25.46 with a fifth place finish, while
LeAndrea Combo was sixth in the event.
Olivia Head finished sixth in the 100 meters and
Anya Bunao was sixth in the 1500 meters.
Shannon McAndrew took eighth place in the 5,000 meters.
Amber Lust was .02 off her school record in the 100 meter hurdles, as she finished fourth. The 4x100 relay was second, while the 4x400 relay took fourth place with a time that was .02 from tying the school mark. In the field events,
Sara Jane Hayes was tenth in the high jump, while
Alex King finished ninth in the discus throw and seventh in the hammer.
Emily Williams and Erin Troyer were fifth and eighth, respectively, in the javelin throw.

On the men's side,
Omar Mingo was ninth in the 100 meters. In the 1500 meters
Joe Harbacevich was second in 4:01.61 and
Alex Michaels took third in 4:04.06.
Cristian Widenhouse and
Jonathan Rice had top ten finishes in the 5000 meters.
Sam Robinson was sixth in the 100 meter hurdles and added a sixth place finish in the pole vault.
Conrad Heinrich was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles. The 4x400 relay team finished sixth.
Tevin Johnson went 6.96 meters to finish second in the long jump and
Omar Mingo was fourth in the triple jump.
Gaston Hayworth was third in the hammer throw and fifth in the discus. Dalton Sullivan, Longinus Nnodim and
Conrad Heinrich were in the top ten in the shot put.

The outdoor season will conclude for the Terriers on May 11-12 at the Southern Conference Championships held at Western Carolina.
