Novak Named GCAA All-America Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. – Andrew Novak was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The GCAA announced its 212 NCAA Division I honorees on Wednesday.
 
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
 
Novak ended his junior campaign with a 70.89 stroke average, good enough to rank No. 2 in the Southern Conference. His season included eight top 10s, six top fives, four finishes of second or better and two tournament victories. He shattered Wofford's 54-hole scoring record with a 13-under-par 203 (70-67-66) to win the Wexford Plantation in February.
 
Novak's stellar season also included a trip to Tuscaloosa for the NCAA Regionals in May. There, he impressed by tying for 17th out of 75 competitors at 1-over-par 217, nearly advancing to NCAA Nationals. He was the first Terrier to earn a trip to the regional tournament since 2011.
