SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over King University on Sunday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center.
The win improves the Terriers to 6-3 on the season, including a 5-0 mark at home.
Wofford earned the doubles point once again on Sunday, with
Andrew Graham and
Trevor Gotkowski clinching their match, 6-1, in the no. 2 position. Minutes later,
Haris Poric and
Julian Chousa won their match, 6-2, from the no. 1 position. In addition,
Jack Thomas and
Lucas Cerbelli were winning their match, 5-2, when the Terriers clinched the point.
In singles play, the Terriers kept up the momentum, winning all six of their matches.
Kyle Barr cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 in the no.6 position, He was followed by
Haris Poric, who won 6-3, 6-1 from the no. 1 spot.
Playing at no.2, freshman
Lucas Cerbelli won for the fifth straight time, 6-2, 5-2, retired.
Jack Thomas continued his stellar season, winning 6-3, 6-3 from the no. 4 position.
Parks Schoen won again at no. 3, taking a second set tiebreak to finish with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory. Freshman
Julian Chousa also won for the second straight match, finishing with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
Up next, the Terriers will host Kennesaw State next Saturday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m.
