SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team fell, 5-2 , to ETSU on Saturday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center.

The loss drops the Terriers to 10-7 on the season and puts them at 0-2 in SoCon play. ETSU's win is their first in conference play this season and moves them to 5-6 overall.

The Buccaneers took all three doubles matches to grab a 1-0 advantage heading into singles play. Although they lost all three matches, the Terriers were extremely close in two of them. After David Biosca and Juan Lugo won, 6-2, at no. 2 to give ETSU the first match in the books, Wofford and ETSU played close matches at no. 1 and no. 3.

Unfortunately for the Terriers, ETSU prevailed in both, with Robert Herrera and Diego Nunez's 7-5 win at no. 1 being the clincher. The Buccaneers also won, 7-5, at no. 3.

In singles competition, ETSU put up the first point thanks to a 6-1, 6-1 win from Robert Herrera at the no. 3 position. The Buccaneers took the match at no. 5 when David Gonzalez won 6-3, 6-3 to put them within one point of clinching the match.

ETSU clinched at the no. 1 position, with Biosca's 7-5, 6-2 when over
Haris Poric.

With the fate of the match decided,
Lucas Cerbelli and
Kyle Barr picked up singles wins to put Wofford on the scoreboard, each coming in a third set tiebreak. Cerbelli won his match, 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (retired) at no. 2. Meanwhile, Barr took his match 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).
