SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team fell to Furman, 7-0, in the team's home finale on Tuesday afternoon.

The loss drops the Terriers to 11-8 overall and 1-3 in SoCon play.

Furman earned the doubles point by taking the first two doubles matches, while the Terriers took the third in a tiebreak. The Paladins struck first at the no. 1 position, with Adam Steryous and Jake Munns winning, 6-3. Moments later, Furman took the point with a 6-2 win from Clarke Wilson and Trevor Croyder at no. 3. The Terriers battled back to win the match at no. 2, as
Patrick Longest and
Andrew Graham won, 7-6 (7-3).

The Paladins jumped out to an early advantage in singles, when Adam Steryous won his match, 6-2, 6-1, at the no. 1 slot. Furman continued the momentum with another win, this time a 6-3, 7-5 win at no. 5 by Alex Steryous.

Needing just one more win to clinch the match, the Terriers rallied to take each of the remaining matches to the third set. However, Furman delivered the clinching win with Cameron Green's 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 win at the no. 2 position after Cerbelli took the opening set. This was quickly followed by Jake Bhangdia's three set win (6-2, 2-6, 6-3) at no. 6 over
Kyle Barr.

Parks Schoen and Thomas were able to push their matches to three sets, but the Paladins prevailed in each to take the match, 7-0.
