HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed on Friday and Saturday at the ninth-annual VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University. The team set two new school records and had numerous top 20 finishes in the highly competitive meet.

McLeod Dean finished eighth overall in the 100 meters with a time of 12.04, setting a new school record.
Amber Lust was 12
th in the event at 12.2, which also was better than the previous school record of 12.31 set last year. Lust was also the Terriers' top finisher in the 200 meters. Dean added a school record in the 400 meters at 57.58 and was sixth overall out of over 60 competitors.
Anya Bunao was the top finisher in the 800 meters and finished 1th overall in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Mary Stewart Wilson led the team in the 1500 meters,
Taryn Schoen was the top finisher in the 5,000 meters and
Shannon McAndrew was third overall in the 10,000 meters.
Sara Jane Hayes was the top Wofford finisher in the 100 meter hurdles and the high jump, while Kasey Widmyer went the farthest in the triple jump and Erin Troyer was the top Terrier in the javelin. The 4x100 relay team was seventh overall and the 4x400 relay team was third out of 16 teams.

For the men,
Bosco Bapoupeleh was the first Terrier to finish in the 100 meters at 11.17.
Bradford Smith ran the 200 meters in 22.83 and was near a school record in the 400 meters at 50.28.
Joe Harbacevich was third overall in the 800 meters at 1:54.06 and
Jack Zemp was the top finisher for Wofford in the 1,500 meters.
Ethan Epstein was 13
th overall in the 5,000 meters and
Jonathan Rice was the top Terrier in the 10,000 meters.
Conrad Heinrich was the top Wofford finisher in both the 110 meter hurdles and 400 hurdles.
Omar Mingo was 16
th in the long jump and 18
th in the triple jump.
Hunter Griffin had the top distance in the shot put for Wofford, while
Gaston Hayworth had the top distance in the discus and in the hammer throw.
William Stout threw the javelin 37.00 meters. The 4x400 relay was 12
th overall.

Over 1,500 athletes competed in the event from 47 different schools, including Wake Forest, Elon, Virginia Tech, Western Carolina, Coastal Carolina, North Carolina and Liberty.

The teams will be in action next at the Beyon Sports Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina University on April 14 and 15.
