Men's Tennis Cruises Past The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team took down The Citadel, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Charleston.
 
The Terriers did not drop a single set in the match, winning all three doubles matches and taking all six singles matches in straight sets.
 
The win improves the Terriers to 13-8 on the season and evens their record at 3-3 in SoCon play.

"We've done a lot of good work and it showed today," coach Rod Ray said. "We will capitalize on the momentum we gained today and parlay it as we move into our season's final chapter."
 
Wofford took the opening point of the match by claiming all three doubles matches. First, Haris Poric and Julian Chousa won, 6-2, at no. 1. The Terriers quickly clinched the point on a pair of 6-3 wins from Andrew Graham and Patrick Longest at no. 2 and Lucas Cerbelli and Jack Thomas at no. 3.
 
Cerbelli and Thomas improved their doubles record to 10-3 on the season.
 
In singles competition, the Terriers continued their stellar play, winning all of their matches in two sets. Poric closed out The Citadel's Michael Anzalone, 6-4, 6-0 at no. 1. Cerbelli continued his strong freshman season with a 6-4, 6-4 win at no. 2. Thomas fought back into the win column with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Isaac Stolar at the no. 4 position.
 
Parks Schoen easily dispatched Roy Hobson, 6-1, 6-2 at the no. 3 spot. Sophomore Kyle Barr took care of Connor Grady, 6-3, 6-3, at no. 6. Barr is tied for the team lead with Cerbelli at 12 singles wins on the season.
 
Finally, Chousa earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at no. 5 to complete the sweep for Wofford.
 
Up next, the Terriers will conclude their regular season this Saturday, April 15, when they take on UNCG at 12 p.m. in Greensboro
