BOONE, N.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams began the 2018-19 season at the Mountaineer Indoor hosted by Appalachian State at the Holmes Center on Friday and Saturday. Both the men's and women's teams took first place in the meet as numerous Terriers had top five finishes.

Amber Lust set a new school record in the 55-meter hurdles at 8.09, with
Destiny Shippy second and
Shakaiya Bradford fourth in the event.
McLeod Dean added a school record in the 55 meters at 7.18 with a first-place finish, while
Amber Lust was third overall. The Terriers took fourth through seventh place in the mile, led by
Sommer McKenzie.
McLeod Dean added second place finish in the 300 meters, with
Amber Lust fifth in the event.
Kassidy Morton was second in the 400 meters at 58.72 and
LeAndrea Combo finished third, followed by
Olivia Head in fifth place.
Madison Paraskeva and
Sommer McKenzie finished one-two in the 800 meters, with
Rebeka Fadgyas fifth. In the 3,000 meters,
Mary Stewart Wilson was first overall and
Shannon McAndrew was second. The Terriers 4x300 relay team was first.
Destiny Shippy was fifth in the triple jump at 10.92 meters.

Isaiah Ellis took second place in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.87, while
Conrad Heinrich was third in 7.94 and
Jonathan Hall was sixth.
Jaylen Muhommad set a new school record in the 55-meter dash at 6.47, while placing second overall.
Jack Zemp and
Ford McCoy took the top two spots in the mile.
Bosco Bapoupeleh was fifth in the 300 meters.
Elijah Bull was second in the 400 meters in 50.62.
Jack Zemp added a first place in the 800 meters, with
Bradford Smith third and
Ford McCoy fourth. In the 3,000 meters,
Josh Hendry was first,
Ben Boatwright second and Beck Classy third.
Longinus Nnodim was second overall in the weight throw at 15.13 meters and he was eighth in the shot put.
Omar Mingo took third place in the triple jump at 13.76 meters. The men's 4x300 relay was third overall.

For the women, Wofford was first with 141 points, while Appalachian State was second at 132. The men won with 128 points, with Appalachian State second at 107 points. A total of ten teams competed on the women's side and nine competed for the men.

After the semester break, the teams will be back in action on January 11-12 at the ETSU Invitational in Johnson City, Tennessee.
